Cow Creek Turkey Brine

Brining a turkey really enhances flavor and helps to elevate your Thanksgiving dinner. I recently started brining our bird and this is my go to recipe for that!

Ingredients:

4 C of Apple Cider Vinegar (game changer)

12 C of Water

2 large Oranges

a few sprigs of Rosemary

a few sprigs of Sage

a few sprigs of Thyme

2 TBSP peppercorns

Bulb of Garlic

a small handful of bay leaves

1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar

1 1/2 C Coarse Salt

Directions:

In a pan, dry roast your peppercorns, herbs, and garlic (skin on-halved).

In a large stock pot, add your liquids, sugar, salt, and roasted herbs. Bring to a bowl while stirring to make sure everything is mixed and dissolved. Once mixed, let it cool completely. Once cooled, add the turkey to whatever you’re brining in (either a large pot or brining bag) and pour the brine liquid in.

Let it marinate in the brine for at least 24 hours before cooking.
